This Program aims to cultivate high-quality talents who can meet the needs of national technological, economic and social development, possess sound humanistic literacy, engineering awareness and professional ethics, master the natural science fundamentals, engineering fundamentals, professional knowledge and practical skills related to polymer material science and engineering, and demonstrate innovative thinking, global vision and organizational management capabilities. Graduates will be qualified to conduct fundamental research, new material R&D, technological development, engineering design, and production management in the field of polymer material science and engineering, encompassing preparation, modification, forming & processing, functionalization, characterization, evaluation and application of polymer materials.
Graduates will meet the following requirements:
Engineering application: Apply professional knowledge to analyze and address complex engineering challenges in polymer material preparation and forming processes, and implement technical improvements such as formulation or process optimization in production;
Product development: Effectively apply fundamental knowledge of polymer materials and engineering to conduct R&D work in material structure design, synthesis and process optimization based on market demands, economic costs, environmental impact and safety factors, ultimately developing polymer materials or products that meet application requirements;
Scientific research: Conduct innovative research in fundamental theories of polymer science or cutting-edge innovation in polymer materials;
Organizational management: Undertake production management, project management, technological management, and market management in the field of polymer materials and engineering.

2.Graduation requirements
Upon graduation, for disciplines where a foreign language serves as the medium of instruction for professional courses, international students' Chinese language proficiency should reach at least Level 4 of the International Chinese Proficiency Standards. The conferment of degrees shall be conducted in accordance with the Detailed Implementation Rules for the Conferment of Bachelor's Degrees at Beijing University of Chemical Technology.
