Eligibility:
1. Be a non-Chinese citizen.
2. Be friendly to China, have no criminal record, and abide by the laws and regulations of China and the rules and regulations of Beijing University of Chemical Technology.
3. Be in good physical and mental health, and maintain good academic and behavioral standing.
4. Be interested in Chinese language education and related work.
5. Be aged between 16 and 35 years on September 1, 2025. The maximum age limit for in-service Chinese teachers may be extended to 45.
6. Provide HSK and HSKK language proficiency certification materials according to the requirements of each program.
Categories:
One-Year Scholarship for One-Year Study Program
The program commences in September every year, and the scholarship is provided for a maximum of eleven months.
· Chinese Language Education Programs: Applicants must have a minimum score of 270 on the HSK test (Level 3), and an HSKK test score is required.
· Chinese Study: Applicants must have a minimum score of 210 on the HSK test (Level 3), and priority will be given to applicants who provide an HSKK test score.
One-Semester Scholarship for One-Semester Study Program
Admission is available for September every year and March every next year, with a funding duration of 5 months.
· International Chinese Language Education Programs: Applicants must have a minimum score of 270 on the HSK test (Level 3), and an HSKK test score is required.
· Chinese Study: Applicants must have a minimum score of 210 on the HSK test (Level 3), and priority will be given to applicants who provide an HSKK test score.
Scholarship Coverage:
The International Chinese Language Teachers Scholarship covers tuition, accommodation, living allowance, and comprehensive medical insurance.
1. Our university provides free dormitory accommodation for students, typically in double rooms. Scholarship students who apply for and receive approval from the university to live off-campus will receive a monthly or quarterly housing allowance. The standard housing allowance for scholarship students is 700 RMB per month.
2. The living allowance is granted on a monthly basis. The standard monthly allowance for one-year and one-semester research students is 2,500 RMB.
3. Comprehensive medical insurance is purchased in accordance with the relevant regulations for international students stipulated by the Ministry of Education of China. For one-semester students, it is 400 RMB per person; for one-academic-year students and above, it is 800 RMB per person yearly.
Application Procedure:
1. Log on to the International Chinese Language Teachers Scholarships website (http://cis.chinese.cn) to register. Complete the International Chinese Language Teachers Scholarships Application Form online, select Beijing University of Chemical Technology, and upload the scanned copies of relevant supporting documents.
2. Complete the registration in the BUCT system (http://study.buct.edu.cn), confirm the submission of the application, and obtain the application number.
3. Recommending institutions review the materials and recommend applicants who meet the criteria to BUCT.
4. BUCT reviews the materials, interviews applicants, and pre-admits applicants based on a competitive selection process.
5. The Center for Language Education and Cooperation will conduct an overall assessment of all applications and admit applicants on the basis of competitive selection. Normally, the admission results will be announced 3 months before the term begins.
Application Materials:
1. A scanned copy of the passport data page.
2. HSK and HSKK score reports that are no more than two years old.
A recommendation letter signed by the head of the recommending institution
